Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City borough of Queens in 1974. Founded by Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, and Tommy Ramone, the band is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of punk rock. Their fast, stripped-down songs, memorable melodies, and energetic performances helped redefine rock music and laid the foundation for the global punk movement. Classic albums such as Ramones, Rocket to Russia, and Road to Ruin introduced enduring songs including Blitzkrieg Bop, Sheena Is a Punk Rocker, Rockaway Beach, and I Wanna Be Sedated.

Although the Ramones achieved only modest commercial success during their early years, their influence on popular music has been extraordinary. Their straightforward songwriting, relentless touring, and unmistakable style inspired countless punk, alternative rock, and pop-punk bands around the world. Today, the Ramones are recognized as one of the most influential rock bands of all time, earning induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and receiving a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for their lasting contributions to music.

Much of the Ramones’ legendary reputation was built through relentless touring and unforgettable live performances. From legendary clubs such as CBGB in New York City to concert halls, festivals, and international tours, the band became known for delivering short, high-energy sets that captivated audiences.
