Sade is the stage name of Nigerian-born British singer-songwriter Helen Folasade Adu and the name of the acclaimed British band she fronts. Formed in London in 1982, the group blends soul, jazz, R&B, and sophisti-pop into a timeless sound that has captivated audiences around the world. Albums such as *Diamond Life*, *Promise*, and *Love Deluxe* produced enduring classics including *Smooth Operator*, *Your Love Is King*, *The Sweetest Taboo*, and *No Ordinary Love*, helping establish Sade as one of the most successful and influential bands in contemporary soul and R&B music.

Unlike most successful groups, Sade’s core membership has remained intact since the early 1980s when Helen Adu, (known simply as Sade), and four other musicians formed the band in London. Sade’s understated style, beautiful, soulful and often melancholic songs, and sublime musicianship have earned critical acclaim around the world and, over time, numerous Grammy Awards and sales of over 75 million albums. Generations of soul, jazz, R&B and pop artists have been influenced by the band and its followers continue to ‘discover’ Sade’s classic albums, many years after their initial release.

Sade’s live performances have consistently received great reviews and are intimate and musically outstanding.
