Murderdolls

Murderdolls was an American horror punk and glam-influenced metal band centered around Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison on guitar and Wednesday 13 on vocals. Formed in 2002, the project gave Jordison a chance to step out from behind the drum kit, while Wednesday 13 brought his horror-inspired lyrics, theatrical image, and punk attitude to the band. Their original touring lineup also featured Tripp Eisen on guitar, Eric Griffin on bass, and Ben Graves on drums, creating a mix of punk, glam metal, heavy metal, and horror imagery that gave Murderdolls a distinctive identity.

Their debut album, Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, arrived in 2002 and featured songs such as Dead in Hollywood, Love at First Fright, and their cover of Billy Idol’s White Wedding. After touring behind the album, Murderdolls went on hiatus as Jordison returned to Slipknot and Wednesday 13 moved on to other projects, eventually establishing his solo career. The two reunited under the Murderdolls name in 2010 and released their second and final studio album, Women and Children Last. With a noticeably heavier sound, the album featured tracks including My Dark Place Alone, Nowhere, Chapel of Blood, and Summertime Suicide.

Murderdolls returned to the road with Jordison on guitar, Wednesday 13 on vocals, Roman Surman on guitar, Jack Tankersley on bass, and Racci Shay Hart on drums. The band performed internationally and appeared on the Halloween Hootenanny tour alongside Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper. Their second chapter proved relatively brief, however, and Murderdolls came to an end in 2011. Joey Jordison died in 2021 at the age of 46, leaving the band’s two-album catalog as a distinctive part of his musical legacy outside Slipknot.

Authentic Murderdolls guitar picks and memorabilia offer collectors a connection to this short-lived but memorable collaboration between two distinctive figures in 2000s heavy music. Pieces associated with different concerts and tours capture a particularly interesting side of Joey Jordison’s career, when audiences saw the renowned drummer take the stage as a guitarist alongside Wednesday 13.
