American Hi Fi

American Hi-Fi is an American rock band. Stacy Jones is the singer and the other band members are Jamie Arentzen on the guitar, Drew Parsons on bass, and Brian Nolan on the drums. Stacy Jones was already the drummer for another band when he asked the other three to play with him as his frontman. They formed a new band to play a different style of music than the band he was already in, and that style of music is power pop/alternative rock/ pop punk/ hard rock.
The band’s first album to reach an even larger audience of American Hi-Fi fans and rock enthusiasts was their self-titled debut released in 2001. It introduced fans to hits like “Flavor of the Weak,” “Another Perfect Day” and more. Four years later the group would release “The Art of Losing” in 2003, another album of quality songs like “The Breakup Song” that blended crunchy guitars, catchy melodies and high energy rock. American Hi-Fi would leave Island Records for the opportunity to work with producer Butch Walker at Maverick Records. Their next album “Hearts on Parade” would surface in 2005 and contain more great tracks like “The Geeks Get the Girls”.
Jones and Arentzen later found work as touring musicians for Miley Cyrus in the periods when American Hi-Fi were less active. In the years since Jones and Arentzen reformed the band, releasing Fight the Frequency (2010) and Blood & Lemonade (2014), the group re-released the album as an acoustic record in 2016. These new works offered new interpretations of the songs which first won over fans and introduced them to the band’s unique sound and style.
